Sessions are a fixed range of dates that define when classes are held during the academic term. Sessions are entered on the Basic Data panel in Collaborative Class Scheduling (CCS) for each class section and should most narrowly match the class meeting pattern dates.
Meeting pattern dates define the exact dates the class meets, which must fall within the chosen session dates.
The chosen session also impacts PeopleSoft processes built around refund schedules, add/drop dates, when a “W” appears on a student's transcript, grade report generation, and more. The session cannot be changed once students are enrolled. For more information, please refer to the Working with Session Codes guide.
