In May 2010, construction began on the interior renovation of Folwell Hall. The renovation improved office space for the departments housed in the building, and consolidated the general purpose classrooms to the ground and first floors.
OCM manages 28 classroom and 3 student study spaces in the renovated building. The new classrooms have capacities ranging from 18-64 students; with an average classroom capacity of 34.
Along with the space reallocation, the project replaced the HVAC system to bring conditioned air to all spaces, and installed additional elevators to improve building access.
See the University Capital Planning and Project Management site for additional details and information at cppm.umn.edu/folwell.html
The project was completed in August 2011.
